Marketing experts thrive on this type of data to provide the retail stores with an crucial amount of information as to what are the types of products that are working best for different people. Needless to say that this information is expensive in terms of the time that has taken to collect and the time it takes to analyze. But the results have delivered ample evidence that it is an effective technique.
It is not a secret that governments have been collecting data on its citizens for a longer period than anybody else. Their interest are as diverse as the type of books you buy to the food you like to eat, their grasp scope into your private live is unprecedented in this age of technology and although I do not claim to know all of the information that they collect or the use that they have for this information it is hard not to feel fearfull in our daily lives.
On the flip side social networking sites like Facebook and Tweeter are creating a problem for a wide variety of people. On the governmental side the US army has just been banned the use of social networking sites on the web because it was determined that its use was providing information to the enemy. And on the individual side of things all you reveal in these sites about yourself and others stays online indefinitely. It easily becomes public knowledge thus it can be used in a wide array ways to hinder you either financially, personally or professionally.
